Fun Gala 15 July 2016 – Encouraging new swimmers to join Stretford ASC
We would like to invite all swimmers who train at the Sunday sessions 4:30-5:30 and 5:30-6:30 to a Fun Gala on Friday 15th July. This gala has been designed to enable those individuals who have Swim Well lessons the opportunity to take part in a fun but competitive gala. It also allows them to swim and compete alongside the club swimmers who are of similar abilities.
Misha is trying to improve and develop a smoother transition between the Swim Well sessions and the club sessions, if they wish to progress. If you are interested in taking part in the Fun Gala then please email Misha with your child’s name, age, time they swim and their teacher’s name to misha_murtagh@hotmail.co.uk before the 8th July. You will later receive a conformation email with further details of the event.
Please note, that due to the gala taking place on the 15th July there will be no training session that evening.
If any of the older swimmers or parents wish to help out with the running of the gala it would much appreciated. Please contact Misha either in person or via email.

Exciting new adult and junior masters swimming sessions Saturday afternoons
The club is pleased to announce the launch of two new sessions – a junior masters session (aged 12+), and an adult masters group (18+).
The sessions will be held between 3.30 – 5.00 pm, starting from next Saturday February 27th at Stretford Sports Village.
Both sessions will give teenagers and adults the chance to enjoy coached sessions that aim to be social and fun as well as focusing on personal fitness goals or stroke development. Please note that we split the pool so that the juniors and adult masters will swim separately.
For the junior masters sessions anyone aged 12 and over is welcome including people new to the club. The session will cater for our existing older swimmers when they still want to swim for fitness or fun, but no longer want to train to compete. We are also hoping to atttract back some swimmers who may have left for the above reasons. We are also keen to recruit new swimmers – these may be older and have been put off from joining the club because they are not strong enough swimmers to join our current main group. Please spread the word around friends and encourage them to come down and give it a try.
The adult masters will have the lanes tailored so that everyone can be grouped by experience or ability. Please talk to the coaches about what you are looking to achieve, so that they can help.
The cost of the session is either our normal membership fee and the ASA Membership plus £5 a session (either poolside or standing order). Alternatively, we are also offering a new Pay As You Go scheme where new or returning members can pay only the ASA fee plus £6,50 a session.
Finally, we will soon be offering new Aqua sports activities for anyone aged 12 and over and will keep you posted. These activities could include things such as open water swimming, wake boarding, canoeing. The group will be asked to input into the decision making process on what activities are chosen. We are hoping to subsidise these activities to help keep costs down.
