The swimming team secured a creditable second place as they travelled to Broughton for Round 2 of this season’s Arena League competition.

After winning round 1 on their return to Division One, the team came up against strong competition from City of Stoke and Everton. Despite a few agonising disqualifications the team finished joint second with Everton. City of Stoke ran out comfortable winners.

The result means Stretford qualify in fourth place in the Division One Final, on 8 December once again in Broughton.

Water Polo team secure league title

The senior men’s water polo team have won the Bolton and District League title, securing first place with a comprehensive 17-10 win against City of Chester.  Needing a win to guarantee the title, Stretford race into an 8-0 lead meaning the outcome never looked in doubt against an experienced Chester team.  The Dolphins only lost one match all season to Bridgefield, who they will meet again in the cup final in the coming weeks.  A league and cup double is a possibility.
