Mini Dolphins – We can offer you a free trial to see if you are ready to join our club, once your child has reached stage 7 of the National Plan for Teaching Swimming. At this level swimmers are able to swim 25m on all 4 competitive strokes at the standard expected by the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA). Click here for more information. If you’re not sure whether your child is ready, either ask your current swim teacher or call in at the club and ask for an assessment.
Free Trials for the club take place at Stretford Sports Village (Chester Centre) at 4-30pm every Sunday, ( bar holidays) just call in and ask. We have a club information desk (in the main foyer of the Leisure Centre) and club members will be on hand to help you. You will need to arrive a little before 4-30pm to give your child time to change and be ready to start on time and this first session usually lasts an hour.
Whilst your child is being assessed by one of the coaches you are welcome to stay on poolside for this assessment session, or else view the session from the public gallery. After the session, the coach will tell you which group your swimmer can join at the club. This is usually Mini Dolphins, our first development group, but they may be placed in a higher group if they already have club swimming experience.
In order to join the club you will need to complete a club membership form. This form can be collected from the Club reception desk after the assessment, or else can be downloaded SASC Membership form and Child photography parental consent form
In addition, your child will also need to become a member of the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA). Most new members will join as a category 1 member of the ASA. Information about the various categories of ASA membership can be found here
Information about fees can be found here
