Central Lancashire Intermediate League results

The swimming team started its Central Lancashire Intermediate League campaign in style with wins against Chadderton SC and Rochdale SC in a double-header at Stretford Sports Village on Friday night (20 April).

The final results were:

Salford Open results

Well done to our swimmers who competed at the Salford Open gala on 24/25 March.

Lots of excellent performances and PBs. Our medal winners were Eva Webb, Ana O’Brien, Lewis Crosby, Chloe Scott, Alfie Jones, Juan Chung, Scarlett Lazenby-Tracey, Kaitlyn Crosby and coach Tom Pope.

Easter training schedule

Our last regular training session before Easter will be next Thursday, 29th March. We will have a session on Tuesday 10thApril and then return to our full program from Friday 13th April. (No training Friday 30th March – Monday 9th April, nor on either Wednesday 11th or Thursday 12th April.)

GM Age Group Meet Weekend 2

Another fantastic weekend at the Greater Manchester Age Group Meet at the Wigan Life Centre with a host of medals, top 10 finishes and 91% of the swims being personal bests.

Stretford swimmers won five gold, four silver and six bronze medals. That makes a total for the two weekends of the gala of 15 gold, 6 silver and 11 bronze.

Medal winners this weekend were: Jaeden Lim (silver – 200 butterfly); Lily Duke (bronze – 50 butterfly); Lewis Crosby (3 golds – 200 breaststroke, 50 breaststroke, 50 butterfly; silver – 100 breaststroke; 2 bronzes – 100 backstroke; 400IM); Jake Christon (2 golds – 50 freestyle, 200 freestyle; 2 silvers – 100 freestyle; 200 backstroke; 3 bronzes – 200IM, 400IM, 200 butterfly)

Boys team takes gold, girls third at M&D Prog B Final

Stretford’s boys’ team stormed to gold and the girls’ team secured third place in the Manchester and District Programme B Final at Sale Leisure Centre tonight (Saturday 10 March).

Competing against Trafford Metro, Glossop, Horwich and Flixton in the event for competitors aged 13 and over,  Stretford swimmers put in fantastic performances in both individual and relay events  victory.

Their efforts weren’t quite enough to take the overall team title, though. That went to our neighbours Trafford Metro, with Horwich second and Stretford third.
